A Western magazine selected Fairbanks for a piece called “20 towns of the future.” The magazine, Sunset, credits Fairbanks for having the Alaska’s flagship university. We beat San Clemente, Calif., and Eugene, Ore., for being a climate research hub.
Alec and I are home resting this weekend because next weekend he is doing a trade show and the weekend after, Easter, we are going to the cabin. The following weekend, we move the chickens out of the garage and to their outdoor pen.
In early May, I’m taking Alec to Talkeetna to climb Denali. By then, the Bottle Washing Fairy will be here visiting. I’ll probably plant the garden.
Jade and I (and maybe Alec) are going to Oregon for the July 4 holiday. I hope to do a hiking trip in late summer. In early October, my 20-year high school class reunion takes place in Chicago.
